What It Does

PatWorld was a hosted patent database offering full-text patent search, AI similarity search, and analytics. As of July 2025 the self-service database has been retired. PatWorld now operates as a patent search and analysis services firm, running patentability, freedom-to-operate, invalidity (“busting”), landscape, and competitive intelligence searches on behalf of clients using partner databases.

What We Found

The vendor’s own site confirms the database product was retired in 2025 and that the company has shifted to a services model, with search analysts interpreting results for clients rather than selling direct database access. Before retirement it described coverage of more than 150 million patents across 105+ countries. Anyone arriving here looking for a self-serve search tool should note the product no longer exists in that form.
