Lexion
What it is
What It Does
Lexion is an AI-based contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool. It centralises contracts in a repository, extracts key terms, and helps legal teams draft, negotiate, and review agreements, with integrations into Microsoft Word, Salesforce, DocuSign, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. The product is now part of DocuSign’s Intelligent Agreement Management line.
What We Found
DocuSign agreed to acquire Lexion for $165M in 2024 and completed the deal that year. Lexion was founded in 2018 by Gaurav Oberoi (CEO), Emad Elwany (CTO), and James Baird, who met at the Allen Institute for AI (AI2) in Seattle. Before the acquisition the company had raised about $36M, including a $20M round in April 2023. The standalone brand is being folded into DocuSign’s platform, so buyers evaluating “Lexion” today are largely evaluating a DocuSign product.
