What It Does

Mural is a visual collaboration platform built around digital whiteboards, sticky notes, diagrams, and templates for real-time and asynchronous teamwork. It’s a general-purpose tool used across product, design, and consulting teams, not a legal-specific product — legal teams that use it do so for workshops, process mapping, and brainstorming rather than for any legal-specific function. It integrates with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Jira, Figma, and identity providers such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID.

What We Found

Mural was founded in 2011 by Mariano Suarez Battan, Agustin Soler, and Patricio Jutard, and is headquartered in San Francisco with roots in Buenos Aires. It raised roughly $200M across multiple rounds and reached unicorn status in 2021. It competes most directly with Miro in the visual-collaboration category.
